When the hit and run victim from one of Tess' former cases awakes from a coma, Sunny encourages Tess to track down new leads even though she's no longer on the force. Tess' ex-partner Jake Campbell inherits Tess' case files along with a new partner, Leo Li, who is quick to dismiss the case as a dead end. As Tess makes progress, she discovers the incident is connected to a notorious unsolved murder. Meanwhile, Tess' best friend Matt encourages Tess to open up about her vision loss to Jake.
