NBC has handed out another early renewal.

The network has picked up The Blacklist for a fourth season, creator Jon Bokenkamp revealed Monday.

“We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet. But yes, we’re renewed through the fourth season,” Bokenkamp said in “The Blacklist: Exposed,” a podcast interview. “Hopefully we don’t tank that out, we got a lot of story to tell.”

NBC has been aggressive in its early renewals. Freshman Blindspot got the vote of confidence back in November, as did Dick Wolf dramas Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Thus far, no other Big Four network has made any similar moves.

This is not the first time NBC has pulled the move with Blacklist. The reigning scripted flagship has gotten the early nod before. But the last year has been one of transition for the third-year drama. After getting the coveted post-Super Bowl slot, the 2014-15 midseason schedule found Blacklist shuffled off to Thursday to give its prime Monday roost to something new.

Airing Mondays after The Voice, Blindspot is now outpacing Blacklist as NBC's top drama. And while Blacklist's ratings have taken a hit — its time-shifting audience continues to deliver a solid 3.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 11.9 million viewers in live-plus-seven day figures.

Blacklist hails from Sony Pictures TV, with John Eisendrath as showrunner.
