The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has renewed the drama for a third season, E! announced Tuesday.

The network has picked up ten new episodes of the series, which centers on the many ups and downs of a fictional modern day royal family.

Elizabeth Hurley, William Moseley, Alexandra Park, Tom Austen, Oliver Milburn and Jake Maskall star. The Royals is created, written and directed by Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill), who also executive produces with Brian Robbins, Joe Davola (Smallville) and Shauna Phelan. The series is co-produced by Lionsgate and Universal Cable Productions.

We can’t wait to see what season three will bring and what surprises are still in store as we enter the second half of season two.”

The renewal comes three months after Amazon Prime acquired streaming rights to the series. E! is also preparing to dive further into the scripted realm with the drama pilot, The Arrangement, which the network ordered in April. Sibling network Bravo has tried a similar strategy with Girlfriends Guide to Divorce and Odd Mom Out.
